A fabulous fully inclusive kitchen at the Victoria School in Birmingham, designed by Adam Thomas, with Ropox components.

It came to our notice recently that we had not covered this fantastic kitchen at Victoria School in Birmingham.

Designed and installed while Adam was still working with Designs Matters, this fantastic fully inclusive kitchen accommodates wheelchair users with a wide variety of access needs, and is equally accessible to students who wish to access the kitchen from a standard height.

The kitchen doors are made from robust high pressure laminate and the generous space features two large rise and fall units, and worktops that contain spills by using raised waterfall edges. Ovens have heat-resistant pull-out surfaces to protect laps from spills and splashes, and the rise and fall tables allow very fine adjustment so that students can work at a comfortable height.

Read the full article here, and get in touch with Adam if you are working on an inclusive project for a school, college or university.
